Xana

Xana is a freestyle live loop musician, sound artist, vibrational sound designer, archival audio producer/researcher, scratch DJ, installation artist, poet and theatremaker.

Xana deconstructs words in live performances to make improvisational soundscapes and songs. Xana composes and develops scores for short films through Xana’s genres: Orchestral Noise, Ancestors Revenge and Thicc Bass using modular synthesis as the basis for experimenting and building new music.

Xana is a music science and technology lead at music research label Inventing Waves, where they develop accessible sound systems for spaces, research in architectural and underwater acoustic sound ecologies and is a sound arts and tech facilitator working with local communities and organisations. Xana has also been nominated for an Offie (Blood Knot, 2019) and (The P Word, 2022).
